School Trip

Eliot & Simon went off this morning on a school trip in the mountains. If the weather clears then tomorrow their whole class will climb Snowdon. But it's not looking too optimistic. I'm sure they'll have a great time. The house does seem quiet without them. They'll be gone until Thursday evening.

Hope we can keep that one little hamster alive until they get back!

Death

Well, when we came home from a party at church last night one of the new hamsters had died. Because they look identical we don't know if it was Ping or Pong who died. Either way it's sad. Eliot was very sad.

yep, it's me again

Ok, so the daily or even monthly thing is still a problem! But let's stick to today. It's sunny out with a crisp fall temperature. The wind has been blowing all night. Life is pretty calm in the Platt household. Let's see, since I last wrote, Richie, our hamster died. Very sad, as we had only had him since last Christmas. But with a short week of mourning we now have TWO small Russian hamsters named Ping & Pong. They are very fast. I think that Eliot has managed to hold one of them in his hand briefly but they still are very cautious.

Rhiannon has been in Africa for 5 weeks now and we are expecting her to arrive home tomorrow morning. So on today's to-do list is to clean out her car, dust her flat and buy some milk for that all important cup of tea that she has when she returns.

It's Friday and Wayne and I usually go out to lunch but this morning we sat talking for over an hour before we started 'work' so we are cancelling the lunch out today.

I guess a lot has happenned. I've joined facebook, I've started a blog for parents of TCKs, we've resigned our membership at Emmanuel Church, and we're continnuing to attend Antioch Church.

I hope I can get some people to read these, then it will motivate me to write more!

Daily?

Well, if this blog is supposed to have daily happenings of the Platt family then there is a lot to catch up on. Lets just start with today. It's dripping wet outside. Wayne's on a skype conference call upstairs while I work in what I call my kitchen office. Jessica is on work experience this week in the accounting office of the local government. But there has been a strike--so she's still in bed, oh, here she is coming for breakfast at 11am. Erika went on a school trip to Alton Towers yesterday and seemed unable to get out of bed this morning. Her and the boys have one more day of school before the summer holidays start.

Oh, the other big event this week was that Wayne and I got new mobile phones--and we are spending all our spare time trying to set them up and figure out what they can do. Maybe I will even be able to post to this blog from my phone! And hopefully be able to quickly add pictures!

'in view of God's mercy', have a great day.

2007 Bluberry Crop

Thought we'd show you what happens to blueberries when left too close to the football (soccer) grounds in the back yard! This picture represents our entire crop this year! And here's Kim harvesting our crop.
I wasn't quick enough to get a picture of the feast that followed the harvest!

Exam Results!!!

All Jessica's friends got their exam results yesterday but since we were only flying home from Poland last night she had to wait. We waited for the post but there was no sign of the letter so we went over to the school. Her self-addressed envelope hadn't been mailed yet.

She did great--one A* in Math, 4 more A's --Double Science, History & Geography, 4 B's English, English Lit, Welsh, French and a C in Music. That's it, GCSE's finished!
